The Royal Oak Elks Hall has a Wednesday show nearly every week, Flint runs Tuesday nights at a bowling center, and Muskegon's Lakes Mall does Wednesday afternoons. If you work weekends or just hate crowds, Michigan is unusually well set up for you.
Metro Detroit is the center of gravity. Royal Oak, Troy, Livonia, Fraser, Warren, Waterford and Chesterfield Township all run regularly, and most of them are within forty minutes of each other. You can reasonably hit two in a day.
West Michigan has its own scene anchored on Grand Rapids, where Legends runs both a sports show and a TCG show out of the same event center. Muskegon, Grandville and Kalamazoo fill in around it.
Malls are a real venue category here in a way they aren't in most states. Midland Mall, Lakes Mall, Laurel Park Place, Rivertown Crossing and Great Lakes Mall all host shows, which means long hours, free parking and somewhere to eat. Good for bringing kids.
Northern Michigan and the UP run sparse but worthwhile shows. Petoskey at the Odawa Casino, Houghton Lake, Sault Ste. Marie at Kewadin. These are a few times a year rather than monthly, and the vintage inventory hasn't been worked over.
Shows here skew sports heavier than most states, Tigers, Lions, Wings and Michigan football, though the Pokemon and TCG rooms have grown fast in the last couple of years. A lot of shows now run both under one roof.
