Cards AI is built by Matt Hastings, a solo developer based in Morristown, New Jersey. He built the app after getting tired of guessing at card values between eBay searches and grading-cost math, and he still writes every line of it.

How accurate is the pricing?
Prices come from recent eBay sold listings for the same card and parallel, with outliers trimmed and a median returned. Accuracy depends on sales volume: common modern cards price tightly, while rare vintage with few sales is a wider estimate.
Is the AI grade the same as a PSA grade?
No. It’s an estimate of how a grader would score centering, corners, edges, and surface, labeled "Cards AI Grade" and never presented as a PSA, BGS, or SGC number. Use it to decide what’s worth submitting.
Does it work on Pokémon and other TCGs?
Yes. The same scanner handles Pokémon and other trading card games alongside the major sports, including pricing and grading.
Do I need to photograph the back of the card?
Scan the front to identify and price it. For grading, both sides give a more accurate read, since corner and surface damage often shows on the back.
Is there a free version?
There’s a 7-day free trial on the annual plan. After that it’s a paid app, which is what keeps the pricing data current and the app free of ads.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play and can be cancelled at any time, with access running to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
What devices does it run on?
Cards AI runs on iPhone and Android phones, downloadable from the App Store and Google Play. Your Binder syncs across every device you sign in on.
How is this different from just searching eBay?
An eBay search takes a minute per card, returns a mix of asking and sold prices, and tells you nothing about condition. Cards AI does the identification, the sold-comp math, and the condition read in one scan.
