Cards AI

About

What Cards AI is

Cards AI is a phone-camera scanner for trading cards. Point it at a sports card, a Pokémon card or a Yu-Gi-Oh! card and in about eight seconds it tells you what that exact card has actually sold for on eBay recently, along with an AI condition grade.

The pricing comes from real completed eBay sales rather than a licensed price guide or an averaged “market value”, so the number reflects what buyers are paying now. The grade scores centering, corners, edges and surface from your photo. It isn't a substitute for a PSA slab; it's a substitute for guessing before you buy, sell or submit.

It's built and supported by one person, Matt Hastings, from Morristown, NJ. There's no team page because there's no team: the same developer who writes the code answers the email.

Beyond the app

The site also keeps a directory of card shows and card shops, starting with New Jersey, and the blog covers pricing, grading and scanner tests. Journalists can find facts and assets in the press kit.
